Tenders are invited for Community World Service Asia (CWSA) is an international non-governmental humanitarian and development organization, working in Afghanistan since 1997 for marginalized, disaster, and war- affected communities through its programs which include Health, Education, Livelihood, WASH, Emergencies Responses, and Disaster Risk Reduction.
Community World Service Asia (CWSA) is currently implementing a pivotal project, 'Enhancing Disaster Risk Reduction Capacity in Afghanistan (MoFA DRR Phase-II Year 3).' Generously funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Japan (MoFA), this project stands as a testament to the enduring collaboration with CWS-Japan. Augmented by the technical prowess of Japan Conservation Engineers & Co., Ltd. (JCE), the initiative encompasses multifaceted approaches. From targeted training programs to strategic interventions, this project embodies a comprehensive endeavor aimed at strengthening disaster resilience across Afghanistan.
1.1.1 Description of construction project
This project focuses on building a 200-meter Boulder Wall along the Dorbaba River in Momandara Jar village, Nangarhar province. The design, a collaborative effort between Community World Service Asia (CWSA) and Japanese experts from Japan Conservation Engineers & Co., Ltd. (JCE), has been approved by provincial and central authorities, including ANDMA Nangarhar and Central ANDMA. The objective is to protect homes and agricultural areas from floods while converting non-arable land into productive farmland.
