• The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), on behalf of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Afghanistan, invites qualified, experienced, and reputable construction firms to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for participation in an upcoming tender for the Rehabilitation and Retrofitting of a Public Health Facility in Kabutar Khan Village, Zinda Jan District, Herat Province, Afghanistan.Project Background:Herat Province in western Afghanistan was severely affected by a series of powerful earthquakes in October 2023, impacting nine districts and directly affecting approximately 275,256 people. The earthquakes caused widespread destruction of critical civilian infrastructure, including homes, health facilities, schools, and water networks, leaving thousands of vulnerable families in urgent need of assistance. In 2024, UN-Habitat marked a milestone in recovery efforts through the successful completion of pilot activities focused on rebuilding and retrofitting community infrastructure in earthquake-affected areas.
