• Description: The Tecnis Intraocular Lens has a unique combination of a number of properties that make this lens very suitable for use in third -line ophthalmic care within the UMCG. That is apparent from: 1. The lenses from J&J remain intra and post surgically well in place This is due to: a.The Tecnis lenses have specific (patented) hydrophobic acrylate material (the material soft enough to be foldable so that the entire range of lens strengths can be placed by 1 incision, hard enough to be form stable immediately after placement in the eye) .b. Tecnis designLens, a one piece Intraocular lens and the design with an optic and haptics with a unique offset, which directed the optics from the lens to the rear, which promotes the (immediate) stability of the lens in the hairstyle bag.c. Implantation is promoted because the Tecnis Lens asSome intraocular lens semi pre-loaded is supplied in the smartload system. The intraocular lens is already loaded from the factory in a cartridge. This cartridge is placed in a Reusable shooter with a turning mechanism to take an eye on the lens.
