- UNHCR's Global Disposal Services (GDS) is responsible for the disposal of fixed assets within the UN family ensuring maximum revenue is generated from auction sale events across the globe for UNHCR and any participating UN Agencies. The current asset disposal processes have several challenges. These include geographical constraints and limited access to auction services in certain regions. Additionally, there are limitations in sharing information and generating outreach to buyers participating in UNHCR's auctions. Furthermore availability and sharing of vital statistics with other members of the UN system is also hindered further affecting Interorganisational collaboration and efficiency.UNHCR currently auctions approximately 3,000 lots of assets per year.These lots primarily include passenger vehicles, ICT equipment, and office furniture.There is a need to expand beyond traditional disposal methods, particularly in regions such as Africa where over 70% of UNHCR assets are located and auction-service infrastructure may be limited.The main purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals from qualified vendors to provide a secure, globally accessible Online Asset Sales Platform (OASP) thereby, increasing global reach, transparency, efficiency, revenue generation, and operational efficiency.
