Call for External Collaborators - The consultant will support SCI with its work related to market systems development for MSME competitiveness and decent work, within the MSME Branch of the ILO Enterprise Department.
In this assignment, the consultant will support SCI with its work related to knowledge and learning on market systems development for MSME competitiveness and decent work; staff capacity building on market systems development; strategy and work-planning looking at SCI's potential work in 2026/2027. The detailed tasks associated with this assignment include:Knowledge and learning• Lead the coordination and support the delivery of at least one webinar for the ILO MSD Network potentially exploring themes on action research, job creation or ex-post evaluations.• Complete at least one short knowledge piece and/or blog, to be determined with SCI, though potentially looking at themes such as ex-post or using MSD to explore specific decent work themes like social protection.• Serve as SCI's focal point on the MSD for Employment community of practice participating in the organisation of webinars• Coordinate at least one session at SCI's MSD and Just Transition event in GenevaStaff capacity building• Hold ad-hoc coaching and capacity building sessions for field staff in the ILO and in other UN agencies. These sessions will aim to work with field staff, and in particular project managers, to provide a sounding board and strengthen their ability to implement with the MSD approach.• Complete and ILO project onboarding protocol for the first year of ILO MSD projects.SCI Strategy• Help SCI plan its objectives, key workstreams and initial activities for 2026 and 2027.
