The United Nations Office Nairobi on behalf of UN Environment Programme invites qualified Firms to participate in the upcoming competitive tender process for advanced methane consultancy services, technical advisory on methane emissions quantification and mitigation, capacity development for institutional stakeholders, and strategic implementation support for methane abatement methodologies. Background:The United Nations Environment Programme's (UNEP) Climate Change Division supports countries in aligning with the Paris Agreement through policy guidance, capacity building, and access to climate finance. Within this division, the International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO) plays a central role in reducing methane emissions by integrating high-quality data collection, scientific analysis, and stakeholder engagement. IMEO focuses primarily on the oil and gas sector through initiatives such as the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0 (OGMP 2.0), which promotes accurate, measurement-based emissions reporting and targeted abatement strategies.
